The City of London has approved the construction of a new 33-story tower in the Square Mile.
Hong Kong developer Tenacity has secured the green light for the project at 55 Gracechurch Street.
The recently approved scheme will be made up of three staggered sections as well as a retractable vehicular lift, which will be converted into public space by day. It was designed by architect Kohn Pederson Fox.
The corporation said in a statement that a public gallery and winter garden at levels 29 and 30, with panoramic views of London, will be open to the public.
The scheme includes more than 72,000 square metres of office space, more than 1,500 square metres of public space and more than 1,800 square metres of retail space.
A contractor has not yet been designated for the plan.
